Bold and ambitious, the A.I.W. was a step which many of its member nations took with many reservations. We are now united, for better or for worse, against all competition which would seek to challenge us. We are an Alliance that seeks peace, and seeks open trade but we are also an Alliance which will defend the interests of all those who would choose to abandon their sovereignty for the better of us all. Our four councils stand for our four pillars of stability, and our four councils govern us equally and fairly. We are here to stand the test of time, together as members of a single government, a single economy, a single military... a single nation. We welcome you to our Central Access Network, in the hopes that peace will continue to characterize our galaxies."

Introduction to the Alliance (A.I.W.)

In the year 2500, peace is failing, rapidly. The United Federation of Planets was involved in an extremely sensitive show-down on its borders with the Carnian Imperium. The Segan Monarchy, meanwhile, had fallen into a state of civil war in which the Styx-influenced Crown Prince Vladimir Rosbourg successfully defeated Crown Prince Youri Rosbourg. The consequence was the creation of the Cardassian Monarchy and a search by the Supreme Militants' Union to find the legendary Ghost Fleet. The accomplishment of these events, in order to restore the Crown to its rightful lineage, left the Segan Monarchy in a state of partial ruins. It became clear to the politicians and the visionaries of the Selevenar Galaxy, and Segan citizens inside the Milky Way Galaxy that the Monarchy could no longer lead the galaxy alone. Getting in touch with its strongest allies in the Selevenar Galaxy, the Monarchy and others agreed to create an ambitious Alliance of Incorporated Worlds in which member nations gave up their sovereignty in order to gain the benefits of this Alliance. The Alliance, with 15 charter members was created on 13 January, 2501 (Unification Day). The charter members and future applicants understand that joining this Alliance means the end of full national sovereignty. Charter members merge into a single nation, becoming provinces within that nation. The Alliance is the most ambitious project ever undertaken by multiple interstellar powers, it is more ambitious in design and purpose than even the United Federation of Planets. Whether or not this Alliance will be able to withstand the test of time remains to be seen, but these member nations are now combined "together they will stand, divided they will fall," for if they are divided, they will become victims of interdependence lost.
